HAROLD W. NIXON

Harold White Nixon, 82, of 706 McPherson St., died Tuesday morning in Albemarle Hospital. He was a native of West Norfolk, Va., and a retired timberman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elizabeth City and the Eureka Lodge 317, A.F. & A.M. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Mr. Nixon was the son of the late Leroy and Mary Merrell Nixon and the husband of Marion Sanders Nixon.

Besides his wife, Mr. Nixon is survived by a sister, Mildred Jennings and three nephews, Dr. John Nixon, Michael Nixon and Macon Nixon Jr.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family request that flowers, as well as memorial gifts be omitted. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements.
