RANDOLPH T. BARNES

Randolph T. ``Randy'' Barnes, 38, formerly of Virginia Beach, Va., died Sept. 5, 1994, in Manor, Texas. He retired from the State Attorney General's Office in Austin, Texas. He was a 1974 graduate of Kempsville High School.

Mr. Barnes' previous employers included Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corp., Norfolk Naval Shipyard, J.J. Henry Co., C.D.I. Marine Co., and Texas State Board of Insurance, Liquidation Division.

His educational background included the completed apprenticeship as shipfitter at Norshipco, Records Management Apprenticeship through Tidewater Community College, Norfolk, and he attended Austin Community College.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Hazel and Allan Powell of Chincoteague, Va.; his father and stepmother, Benjamin and Tina Barnes of Norfolk; one brother, Jeff Barnes and wife, Debbie; one niece and one nephew, all of Roanoke, Va.; his grandmother, Mayne L. Bray of Norfolk; a host of friends, and a loving and caring special friend, Debbie Sanders of Manor, Texas.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 1994, at 10 a.m. at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, the Rev. Fred Braswell officiating.

The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Friday, Sept. 9, 1994, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times the family will be at 2936 Argonne Ave., Norfolk, Va. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
