George D. Holzer Sr., 81, of the 1500 block of Elm Ave., died Sept. 5, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mr. Holzer was born in Los Angeles, Calif. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station as a supervisor. He served as a chief petty officer for the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Holzer of Chesapeake; a daughter, Joan Faye Poythress of Chesapeake; a son, George Donald Holzer Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Ida Mae Higgins of California; nine grandchildren, Johnnie, Jamie, Jodie, Jennifer, Virginia, Susan, Mark, Scott and Steve; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. Warren Chapman. Family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
