Mitsubishi Kasei Corp., the Tokyo-based parent company of Chesapeake-based Kasei Virginia, will merge Oct. 1 with Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co. Ltd. The merged company, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., will have worldwide sales in excess of $13 billion yearly, putting it among the world's 10 largest chemical companies. Tadayuki Imai, president of the Chesapeake operations, said the merger would have little impact on operations there. < by CNB
