THANKS TO the Norfolk Society of the Arts, the Chrysler Museum will be open tonight and every Thursday evening during September.
The museum, which usually closes at 4 p.m., will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. for the next four Thursdays. The gift shop will be open and desserts and cappuccino will be available in Palettes, the restaurant. Tonight's lecture will be on photography.
The Norfolk Society of Arts is providing funds for the expenses involved in the longer hours. It was instrumental in the establishment of the museum, and it continues to fund a season of first-rate lectures by prominent art authorities. Its members operate the gift shop.
The Society is sponsoring the longer Thursday openings as an experiment to see how much they may be in demand by the public. by CNB
