NATHANIEL KAYE

Nathaniel Kaye, 90, of the 600 block of Pembroke Ave., died Sept. 7, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Kaye was a native of Russia. He was a member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp for four years during WW II and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans.

Mr. Kaye received his BS degree and LLB degree from the law school of the University of Virginia and was a member of the Virginia Bar since 1930. He was appointed an instructor in Spanish for three years at the University. He was a Rabbi of the only Synagogue in Charlottesville during his last three years at the law school.

Mr. Kaye was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table Insurance Underwriters and represented the John Hancock Ins. Co. for over 55 years. Life member of the Presidents Honor Club of John Hancock CLV Chartered Life Underwriters since 1933.

Survivors include his wife, Celia Levy Kaye of Norfolk, a son, Howard Kaye of Syracuse, N.Y.; 2 stepsons, Armand Levy of Norfolk, Va., Dr. Jerry Levy of Vienna, Va.; a sister, Elizabeth Goldstein of Norfolk, Va.; and 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Julie Levy of Vienna, Va.; 2 nieces, Marilyn Schwartz of N.Y. City and May Lynn Mansbach of Memphis, Tenn.; a nephew, Garry Goldstein, M.D. of Wilmington, Del.; and several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at their residence. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
