The Kitty Hawk Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday night in favor of a resolution calling for a county-wide referendum on a proposed multi-use center.
The resolution criticized a study sponsored by the Dare County Tourism Board, saying the study did not invite or include citizen input concerning the desirability of such a facility, nor did it consider impact on the quality of life, the infrastructure or the environment.
The resolution also claimed that the study did not determine the availability, cost or location of property for the new multi-use center, or funding sources for the project.
The resolution called for a county-wide poll or vote on the issue, and answers to questions on possible sources of revenue for construction of the center. by CNB
