The Centura Bank team claimed first place in the first reporting session of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce's annual membership drive at the Promenade.
The bank sold $3,625 in memberships during the drive's first week. Total sales for all teams were $6,510, or 29 new members. Top salesperson to date is Jo Ann Willis of the Manteo branch, with $1,285 in membership sales.
The chamber's membership drive will continue through Sept. 15, with 31 volunteer sales associates inviting non-members of the organization to join the chamber. The goal is $25,000.
