I was delighted to see data (showing what I suspected all along) that traffic deaths are falling although state troopers are writing far fewer tickets.
If we really want to get safe, we should increase speed limits by at least 20 percent, turn state troopers into motorist-assistance personnel and, yes, get rid of those abominable ``safety'' inspections.
