ELIZABETH T. TURNER

Elizabeth T. Turner, 75, formerly of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died Friday, Sept. 9, 1994, in Heritage Hall Nursing Center.

Mrs. Turner was born in Capron, Va., and was the daughter of Walter and Cherry Taylor. She was the widow of Walter Turner and was a member of Christ Temple Interdenominational Church, Chesapeake. For many years, Mrs. Turner was a resident of the Park Place Community and she maintained her membership in the Park Place Civic League.

Survivors include her daughter, who was very attentive during her illness, Odessa T. Johnson of Virginia Beach; two sons, Edward Turner of Norfolk and James Turner of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Connie Boykins of Philadelphia; a brother, Edward Taylor of Wilmington, Del.; and nine grandchildren including Sabrina Turner Barnes, whom she raised; and 11 great-grandchildren and of them, Adre Gentry Turner, whom she also raised. She is also survived by three special cousins, Eleanor Wright Washington of Norfolk and Gester and Romaine Taylor, both of Franklin and a devoted daughter-in-law, Yvonne Turner of Toledo.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Riddick Funeral Service, 1225 Norview Ave., by the Rev. Clayton Drake. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and at other times at 3844 S. Plaza Trail. The family would like to extend a special thanks to those who made the difficult time of our Mother's illness easier, staff at Sentara Leigh, the renal dialysis unit of the Norfolk Diagnostic Center, Eastern Medical Transport and the Church Family of Christ Temple.
