WILLIAM E. WORSLEY SR.

William Edgar Worsley, 74, of the 1400 block of Shamrock Ave., died Saturday in his home.

Mr. Worsley was a native of Conetoe, N.C., and was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Lassiter Worsley. He was a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was also retired from the Postal Service. He was a member of Haygood United Methodist Church and the JOY Sunday School Class and had served as a trustee on the administrative board and on the building committee.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Edmondson Worsley; his son, William E. Worsley Jr.; his stepdaughter, Jane Edmondson Quesenberry; two step-grandsons, Blair P. Quesenberry and Brent T. Quesenberry, and one step-granddaughter, Leslie Fannon, all of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Nathan A. Worsley Jr. of Tarboro, N.C., James C. Worsley of Conetoe, N.C. and John Worsley of Raleigh, N.C.

The funeral will be conducted at Haygood United Methodist Church Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1994, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Alan G. Reifsnyder. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Haygood United Methodist Church.
