CORNELL U. SMITH

Cornell U. ``Huckerbuck'' Smith, 45, formerly of 2512 Chestnut St., died Sept. 8, 1994, at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond.

Mr. Smith was born in Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalind Smith; two sons, Ernest Hazelwood and Cornell Smith, both of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mary I. Cherry of Chesapeake and Betty Smith of Portsmouth; four brothers, Willie Lee Smith of Woodlawn, Md., Robert Smith of Chesapeake, David Smith of Boston, Mass. and Isaac Smith of Portsmouth; three grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home by the Rev. Leon J. Boone. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family will be at the home of his sister, Mary I. Cherry, 2332 Locks Landing, Chesapeake. The family will also be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday for the funeral service.
