GEORGE W. PRICE JR.

George Weldon Price Jr., 60, of the 3600 block of Carter Road, died Sept. 12, 1994, in his home.

Mr. Price, a native of Washington, D.C., was retired from the U.S. Army as a Major. He was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was also retired from the St. Julien's Creek Ammunition Depot as a statistician, and had most recently worked at Coleman's Nursery. He was a 1956 graduate of the College of William and Mary; was a member of the Church of the Resurrection; and a former member of the Churchland Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Pat Bisese Price; two daughters, Stephanie Ann Meade and Susan Lynn Gray, both of Portsmouth; three sons, George Weldon Price III, Barry John Price, William Aubrey Price, all of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; his stepmother, Esther Price of Falls Church; two sisters, Patricia Price of Montauk, N.Y., Cathleen Price of Boston, Mass.; a brother, John Price of Chantilly, Va.; four grandchildren, Ryan Gray, Corey Gray, Aubrie Meade, Barry John Price Jr.; and two stepgrandchildren, Stacy and Dallas.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Church of the Resurrection by the Rev. James Carr and the Rev. Thomas Caroluzza. Burial with military honors will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel.
