Earl P. Kupka, 64, of the 1300 block of Chanelka Road, died Sept. 11, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Kupka was born in Springfield Gardens, N.Y. He was a retired YNC from the U.S. Navy after 21 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also retired from the Naval Supply Center. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church; past master of Peerless Masonic Lodge (NU)195 in New York; Benevolent Order of Protective Elks in Jersey City, N.J.; and VFW Post 3160 in Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, A. Diane Kupka; five daughters, Alice Dodge, Linda Kupka and Karen Shaw, all of Groton, Conn., Brenda Curry of New London, Conn., and Alison Kupka of Norfolk; five sons, F. Lance Kupka of New London, Conn., Ronald Kupka of Mystic, Conn., Stephen Stowe of Chesapeake, Edward A. Kupka and Douglas Kupka, both of Norfolk; a sister, Audrey Chalk of Baltimore; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Peter McGill. Burial will be at sea by the Navy at a later date. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
