Police officers have shot and killed a 130-pound Rottweiler that was attacking a 3-year-old boy in the 900 block of DeKalb Ave.
The officers heard screams coming from a back yard Sunday afternoon and found the child's father, Robert Worrell, trying to free his son, Brandon, from the dog's jaws.
The boy was treated at Maryview Medical Center for multiple lacerations to the legs and hips.
No further information was available on the child's condition Monday.
