BOARD HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING

The Currituck County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing 8 p.m. Monday to discuss naming two currently nameless roads.

David and Teresa Perry of Poplar Branch Township would like to call a road Tanner's Way. It and another road that the couple wants to name Perry's Way intersect with Poplar Branch Road.

Currituck residents who live on streets with two or more dwellings are encouraged to submit historical and widely known names for currently unnamed streets.

The Postal Service is assigning permanent street addresses to all mainland dwellings and structures and abandoning the rural route and post office box system for house designations.

Customers on Currituck's Outer Banks, Knotts Island and Gibbs Woods have already converted to the new street system. by CNB
