OTHA FLYTHE

Otha ``Buddy'' Flythe of Newsoms, died Sept. 12, 1994, in Autumn Care Nursing Home, Portsmouth, after a long illness.

He was a native of Southampton County and son of the late Paul and Mamie Flythe. He was retired from Union Camp Corp. Mr. Flythe was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Virginia, Sunbeam (NU)118, Grand Tabernacle of the State of Virginia, National Grand United Order Brothers and Sisters of Love and Charity, Tabernacle (NU)19.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Flythe; a son, McKinley Flythe of Portsmouth; two brothers, Lewis Flythe of Portsmouth and Jessie Flythe of Newsoms; two grandchildren, Sherri Hunter of Portsmouth and Kenneth Flythe of Fort Meade, Md.; four great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Flythe of Portsmouth.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. Roger Steele. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
