CAMPUS NOTES

Dr. Timothy N. Patselas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Constantine M. Patselas of Brickby Road, recently completed his graduate training in general surgery at the East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C. Patselas is a 1979 graduate of Granby High School and a 1983 graduate of the Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Dr. Nellie Boyd and Dr. Rebecca Rice, both professors at Norfolk State University, were presented awards of recognition and appreciation for their service to Norfolk State's ROTC by Maj. Gen. James M. Lyle, commanding general of the U.S. Army ROTC Cadet Command in Fort Monroe.

Boyd is an English and foreign language professor and head of the Army ROTC Enhanced Skills Training Program at the university. Rice is head of the university's nursing department. The awards were presented following their participation at Army ROTC advanced camps last summer.

Grace Prakalapakorn, a student at Norfolk Academy, has been awarded the Rensselaer Medal for achievement in science and mathematics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, N.Y.

The TOWN Foundation of Norfolk awarded its Sarah Lanier Tabb Oliver Memorial Scholarship to Troy-Ann Patterson, a freshman at James Madison University.
