Ella Mae Whitehurst, 77, died Sept. 13, 1994, in a San Diego hospital.
She was the widow of Lawrence B. Whitehurst Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline W. Young of San Diego; a son, Lawrence B. Whitehurst III of Georgia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly LaJoy and Lou Butler; and brother, Emory Davis.
A graveside service will be Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends will gather after the service at 5308 Studeley Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation or Heart Fund.
