Lonnie Wilson Doughty, 94, of the 300 block of Constance Drive, died Tuesday in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Doughty was a native of old Norfolk County and a 30-year retired locks tender for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. Mr. Doughty was the son of the late Lonnie Hall and Mrs. Estelle Copeland Doughty and husband of the late Virgie Livingston Doughty.
He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Unser and Betty Embry, both of Chesapeake; one brother, Allen Doughty of Franklin, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. W. Roberts McIvor. The family will receive friends at 312 Constance Drive. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
