Willie Raymond Edwards, 53, of the 500 block of Crown Crescent, a retired cement finisher, died Sept. 13, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Edwards was born in Jackson, N.C., and was the widower of Wilma Edwards. He retired nine years ago from Pollard Construction after more than 20 years of service. He was a former member of Allen Chapel AME Church in Jackson, N.C.
Survivors include four sisters, Lois Stancil of Chesapeake, Ophelia Flowers of Virginia Beach, Paulette Edwards of Norfolk and Joyce Pernell of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Jesse Edwards, James M. Edwards and Curley Edwards, all of Norfolk, and Durwood Edwards of Jackson, N.C.; an aunt; an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Hale Funeral Home, Norfolk, by the Rev. Clayton Hall. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble at 528 Crown Crescent, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. for the processional to the chapel.
