Punong Guro Edgar Sulite, orginially from the Southern Philippines and founder of the Lameco Escrima style of martial arts, helped demonstrate with Frank Cucci, a 12-year Navy SEAL veteran, the combat techniques taught to the SEALs.
Cucci, head instructor of the F.D.C. Academy of Martial Arts in Virginia Beach, said he chose this style to teach because of its effectiveness in disarming techniques.
