James Ashley Wells, 46, of the first block of Tazewell Ave., died Sept. 15, 1994, at his residence.
Mr. Wells was born in Queens Village, N.Y., son of Hedwig Wells of Huntington, N.Y., and the late Alfred Ashley Wells. He was co-owner of Seagate Bed and Breakfast in Cape Charles. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Cape Charles Historical Society, Cape Charles-Northampton County Chamber of Commerce and Cape Charles Business Association. He was a former chairman of the Cape Charles Planning Commission.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter, Allison Ashley Wells of Sharon, Conn.; two sisters, Karen W. Gering of Huntington and Hedwig W. Daniel of Massapequa Park, N.Y.; one brother, Edward Wells of Huntington; and eight nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a friend, Chris Bannon of Cape Charles.
A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Cape Charles Catholic Church by the Rev. Leo Cervantes. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church by the Rev. Salvatore Riccardi, C.P., and the Rev. William Haley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church Building Fund, in care of Mrs. Irene Briggs, Eastville, Va. 23347. Fox & Scott Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
