Mick Shaw's traveling farm market has found a new home on Military Highway, at least through pumpkin season.
At 11 a.m. today, Shaw and Norfolk Mayor Paul D. Fraim will announce the new location near Wal-Mart. Shaw has a short-term lease on 35 acres on Military Highway, just north of Janaf Shopping Center on the other side of the highway..
This will be Shaw's third location since the mid-1980s, when he began the farm market on Granby Street at the Lafayette River.
From there, he moved to 2359 E. Little Creek Road for three years. But last year Calvary Revival Church picked that location to build a new sanctuary. In the ensuing battle with neighbors, the church's plans were defeated, but the farm market fell in the crossfire. Shaw closed in February. by CNB
