I can understand fully Vicki Allen's grief and frustration associated with the death of her father due to the effects of the ``addictive drug'' tobacco and its associated carcinogens (letter, ``Tobacco a deadly pleasure,'' Sept. 3).
Ms. Allen states that her father ``wanted to quit cigarettes, but. . . .''
Others who would like to quit ``but'' may wish to know that they can get information offering tips on quitting, lists of smoking-cessation resources and the contact numbers for the free support group Nicotine Anonymous.
