OLLIE TOOK THE FALL

For 11 years the people who were involved in the Iran-Contra affair have just stood on the sidelines and allowed Ollie North to stand all alone to take all of the heat for so many years.

Many of us were very disappointed in Ronald Reagan for the letter he wrote criticizing Ollie North. Even though he has turned his back on Ollie North, Ollie continues to support him and claim that he was the greatest president. Such devotion!

I myself voted for Ronald Reagan twice. America desperately needed him at the time to build up our armed forces. But the letter he wrote about North did more to hurt his own image. Ollie sent him a very nice letter in response to his that deserved a reply.

Franky, this affair is all old news, and it has gotten even older after all these years. We also got tired of hearing that trial go on for so long. Let's get on with what is really happening to the America we once knew! Ollie has the courage, determination and strength we need to represent us. We could sure use a couple of hundred more like him.

Ollie was not a draft dodger or a protester. He shed his blood on the battlefield for us. How shameful the way all of our Vietnam vets were treated! They were all obeying their orders, and they, too, stood alone for many years!
