An Elizabeth City State University junior died Thursday night after collapsing during a recreational basketball game at the Williams Hall Gym.
Roderick L. Gary of Weldon was taken to Albemarle Hospital suffering from cardio-respiratory arrest and was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m., a hospital spokeswoman said.
Gary, a criminal justice major at ECSU, had been a work-study student in the chancellor's office. He was ``apparently very well-liked and a good student,'' said University Relations Director Yvonne Wagner.
