I am dismayed by the lack of research and the mindless parroting by your paper of the United Nations line on supposed overpopulation.
Worse, you are disparaging the Catholic Church's efforts to fight what it sees as the U.N.'s immoral and anti-family agenda.
The final straw was Betsy Mathews Wright's bigoted, anti-Catholic (as well as anti-Muslim) diatribe on the Religion page (Sept. 10). Her slander of the church's leadership and ignorant speculation (obviously absent the light of Catholic faith) on church motives have no place in public discourse, let alone the religions page.
Ms. Wright's caustic tone and uncharitable comments are in sharp contrast to the writings of the saints and popes. Your paper owes Catholics and Muslims an apology, and all readers a more charitable and informed perspective.
