R. RALPH BRANTON SR.

Robert Ralph Branton Sr., 64, of the 600 block of Great Fork Road, Whaleyville Station, a retired farmer, died Sept. 17, 1994, in Obici Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Branton was born in Whaleyville Station, Nansemond County, Va. He was presently president of Branton Farms, Inc., and was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Dolly Taylor Branton and Grover C. Branton.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Holland Branton; two daughters, Shirley B. Branton of Carrollton and Peggy Branton of Suffolk; four sons, Robert R. Branton Jr., William C. Branton, B. Holland Branton and D. Carroll Branton, all of Suffolk; three sisters, Susie B. Holdin of Townsend, Del., and Evelyn B. Clements and Ruth B. Outland, both of Suffolk; two brothers, Grover C. Branton of Suffolk and C. Lindy Branton of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Branton of Suffolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas R. Edwards. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday to receive friends and suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
