Nannie Maude Patton Phillips, 89, of Parsons' Residential Home, Chesapeake, Va., died Sept. 17, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Phillips was born in White Pine, Tenn. She was the daughter of James Oliver Patton and Julia Ann Reese Patton and the widow of William McKinley Phillips. Mrs. Phillips retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Va. She was a member of West Road Church of Christ.
She was survived by two sons, Olin Eugene Phillips of Frankfurt, Germany and Marlin Franklin Phillips of Dover, Del.; a daughter, Julie Elizabeth Phillips Hardee of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Roderick Arlie Patton of Powell, Tenn.; a sister, Nellie Virginia Dyer of Knoxville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. Ministers David Bateman and Philip Alligood will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, 1144 George Washington Highway, Chesapeake, Va., from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at 2665 Plumlee Drive, Chesapeake.
