Cecil T. Coston Jr., of the 900 block of Albert Ave., a retired mail clerk, died Sept. 18, 1994, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mr. Coston was born in Norfolk, son of the late Essie and Cecil T. Coston Sr. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years and was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the cavalry.
Survivors include his wife, Irma L. Hamilton Coston; a stepson, Elder Nathaniel L. Smith of Waynesboro, Ga.; a niece, Mary Louise Hasty of Norfolk; several nieces in Delaware and North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Emanuel Smith; and a host of other relatives.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Shiloh Baptist Church by Dr. John H. Foster. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at 910 Albert Ave.
