Hattie D. Brooks, 98, died in St. Augustine.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Yeatesville, N.C., and was the widow of William Smith Brooks. She was a member of Ferebee-Halstead Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer for 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Jentry B. Cummings of St. Augustine; two granddaughters, Susan Hill of Leesburg, Ga., and Dr. Nancy Beim of Atherton, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jonathan Beck. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling arrangements. Please omit flowers and send memorial donations to Ferebee-Halstead Memorial United Methodist Church, 1520 Halstead Ave., Norfolk.
