Wilson W. Custis of the 2300 block of Portlock Road, a retired civil service employee and owner of Custis Exterminating Company, died Sept. 18, 1994.
Mr. Custis was born in Norfolk. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 33 years of service. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church Bute Street. He was also a member of the Pest Control Technicians, Virginia Pest Control Association, Rising Sun Lodge (NU)2, Arabia Temple (NU)12, Prince Hall Masons, Alpha and Omega Consistory (NU)9, Booker T. Washington High School Reunion Class of 1936, Fairfield Civic League and the Male Chorus of First Baptist Church Bute Street.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Barco Custis; one daughter, Patsy Custis McClain of Norfolk; one sister, Lydia Custis Stallings of Norfolk; and a host of relatives and friends.
A night service will be conducted by the Consistory and the Shriners Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Graves Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Bute Street by Dr. Robert G. Murray. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with a graveside Masonic service. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
