DETECTS, OBJECTS TO BIAS

As a long-time subscriber to this newspaper, I object to the recent editorial changes. The distinctly conservative bent of the editorial pages, under the leadership of John A. Barnes, has not improved this newspaper.

The manifest bias is unworthy of a paper of this caliber. Alarmingly, there is evidence that the bias is creeping into the news pages, which should be objective.

What would serve this community best would be a balanced presentation of viewpoints on the editorial pages and objective news reporting.

I hope that you will reconsider the new editorial policy and return your newspaper to its former high quality.
