CHARLES E. EASTEP

Charles Edward Eastep, 63, of the 2900 block of Elbyrne Court, a retired U.S. Air Force staff sergeant, died Sept. 19, 1994, in Chesapeake.

Mr. Eastep was born in Norfolk and was a Baptist. He was a veteran of Korea and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired from civil service at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, with 15 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Esther V. Eastep; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Edward Caughorn and Robin and Robert Bell, all of Chesapeake; two sons, Stephen Eastep and Scott Eastep and his wife, Michelle, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Marie Coble of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Patricia Sutton of North Beach, Md., and Carol Makinson of Manteo, N.C.; five grandchildren, Brian Caughorn, Matthew Caughorn, Erick Eastep, Amanda Bell and Nicholas Bell, all of Chesapeake; and his stepfather, James Cox of Kitty Hawk.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Donald R. Joyner. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
