Jon Rossi's bicycle trek across North Carolina to raise funds for the Dare County HIV Task Force was cut short last Friday, after he was knocked off his bike on the second leg of his tour.
Rossi, a 37-year-old Jarvisburg resident, was passed by a log truck between Swan Quarter and Belhaven. The draft from the truck knocked Rossi from his bike.
He suffered minor injuries, but was unable to continue his planned ride from Manteo to Murphy.
``He is under a doctor's care at home,'' Dare County HIV Task Force spokesperson Temple Heggie said Tuesday. ``He's not happy about not being able to finish. But as soon as he recovers, he's going to start again. He's going to finish the ride.''
