A 29-year-old woman was killed in a traffic accident in the 6600 block of Chesapeake Blvd. on Thursday night. Two young children who were riding in the car appeared to be uninjured, police said.
Paula D. Hayes, 29, of the 9600 block of 7th Bay St., was driving a 1983 Ford hatchback northbound on Chesapeake Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. when she tried to change lanes and her car bumped into a 1983 Pontiac, police said.
Hayes lost control of the car, which hit a curb and then flipped over, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two children were taken to a local hospital for observation but did not appear to be hurt, police said.
The driver of the Pontiac, Leon Williams, 21, of the 2800 block of Grandy Ave., was uninjured.
