DEBRIS FIRE SPREADS, DESTROYS VACANT HOME

A vacant home was destroyed last Friday after an unattended debris fire set the home ablaze.

The two-story home, at 9220 New Road, caught fire around 10 p.m. after the debris fire spread to the home's siding. According to a Suffolk police report, the debris fire was started by Howard Odom, the owner of the building.

It was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, reports said.
