Lenora Cox, 64, of the 1100 block of Virginia Ave., died Sept. 16, 1994.
Mrs. Cox was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was the widow of Alvester Cox Sr. She was a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Lockett and Maxine Perry, both of New York, and Evangeline E. Cox of Portsmouth; three sons, Carl Cox, Alvester Cox Jr., and Perry Cox, all of Portsmouth; nine brothers, Godwin Mitchell of Norfolk, Edward Mitchell of Patterson, N.Y., Thomas Mitchell and Roy Mitchell, both of Washington, D.C., David Mitchell of Los Angeles, Freddie Mitchell of Landover, Md., Donnell Mitchell, Lionell Mitchell and William Mitchell, all of Aulander, N.C.; her mother, Eva Bishop-Mitchell; and a sister, Brenda Deloatch of Aulander.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Portsmouth, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will be at 4 Peachtree Court, Churchland, Portsmouth. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
