Russell J. Marshall of the 3000 block of Elm Ave., died Sept. 20, 1994.
Mr. Marshall was born in Portsmouth. He was a retired food service employee and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and its Trustee and Deacon boards. He was a past worshipful master of Truxton Masonic Lodge (NU)199 and member of Truxton Chapter (NU)63 of the Order of Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma J. Marshall; a daughter, C. Yvette Godwin; two sisters, Gladys Johnson and Vivian Washington; three brothers, Leonard Marshall, Robert Marshall and Ernest Marshall; and a stepbrother, Marshall Arrington, all of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be held on Saturday at noon in Mount Carmel Baptist Church by the Rev. E.T. Knight. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund. Remains will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rogers Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
