Edith A. Durney, 85, died Sept. 21, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Durney was born in Rector, Ark. Most of her life she was a resident of Fairview Heights, Ill. She was the widow of John Durney and was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Ruth Sunday School class.
Survivors include a son and wife, Wayne E. and Earlene Whittle of Virginia Beach; a sister, Georgia Derby of Festus, Mo.; four brothers, Oakley Roberts of Collinsville, Ill., Gene Roberts of Caseyville, Ill., Elton Roberts of Denver, Colo., and Milton F. Roberts of Maryville, Ill.; three granddaughters, Rita Sutton of Mechanicsville, Va., and Karen George and Shari Whittle, both of Virginia Beach; one grandson, Gary W. Whittle of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; and three great-grandsons.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kassly Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, today from 1 to 3 p.m. and other times at the son's residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Bayside Baptist Church Pre-School Dept., 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach.
