Genese P. Allen, 71, of the 600 block of Henderson St., died Sept. 20, 1994, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Allen was born in Portsmouth. She was a member of Celestial Baptist Church in Portsmouth, the Senior Choir, Missionary Society, Willing Workers, and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was the widow of Charles Allen.
Survivors include two daughters, Bernadette Allen-Johnson and Charlene Allen-Jeffries, both of Portsmouth; a son, Thurman T. Allen of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Revell of Portsmouth; two brothers, Sam Pollard of Puerto Rico and Carroll Pollard of Newark, N.J.; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren, include Henri' Rawls; a special daughter, Pamela Gary of Portsmouth; and nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Celestial Baptist Church by the Rev. Leon J. Boone. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.
