ELIZABETH A. BRITT

Elizabeth Artis Britt of the 800 block of Widgeon Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1994, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

Mrs. Britt was a native of Southampton County, Va., and was the widow of Sampson Britt. She was a retired domestic engineer and was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Newsoms.

Survivors include six daughters, Ethel Scott, Hazel Crossling, Olivia Hardy, Claudia Britt, Dorothy Lee, Mary Sutton, all of Norfolk; three sons, Melvin Britt of Norfolk, Dellie Britt and Oliver Britt, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sisters, Rebecca Boykins, Geneva Winn, both of Baltimore, Easter Turner of Danville, Va., Ester Faulkins of Newsoms, Maxine Darden of Courtland; two brothers, William Clark of Glen Burnie, Md., and Howard Artis of Suffolk; a devoted sister-in-law, Dora McGee of Franklin; 37 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Newsoms, by the Rev. R.S. Steele. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Remains will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. The family will assemble at noon at 869 Widgeon Road, Norfolk, for the funeral service. William M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
