Police on Wednesday announced the arrests of two men wanted in the armed robberies of two Atlantic Avenue stores.
Christopher J. Fernandez, 21, of the 900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., and Richard M. Fonda Jr., 25, of the 3700 block of Prince Andrew Lane, were arrested Friday and charged with two counts of armed robbery related to crimes that occurred Sept. 11 and 12.
Fonda was also charged with the Oct. 26 armed robbery of an Atlantic Avenue hotel.
Each also has been charged with using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Fernandez and Fonda are accused of robbing Paradise Beachwear near 25th Street, and Beach Scene near 30th Street.
Fonda is being held in the city jail on $85,000 bail. Fernandez is being held without bond. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
