GRACE PITT

Grace Pitt, 77, of the 4700 block of Charlton Drive, died Friday, Sept. 23, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Pitt was a native of Nash County, N.C., and was the widow of Jesse H. Pitt. She was retired from Simonsdale Elementary School as cafeteria manager. She was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Chesapeake; past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Driver Chapter (NU)149; active member of the Dolphinett Anglers Club; and a volunteer at Maryview Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Pitt of Virginia Beach and Jimmy Pitt of Chesapeake; a sister, Evelyn Griffin of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three brothers, Willis Carmichael and Haymore Carmichael, both of Rocky Mount, and Eddie Carmichael of Raleigh, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. and the Rev. Scott M. Rimer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
