Sally Roman had four goals and an assist as Maury defeated visiting Norview, 6-2, in an Eastern District field hockey match Friday.
Roman scored a hat trick in the first half as the Commodores (3-2, 2-0) edged in front, 3-2. Katie Roman, Sally's sister, and Meredith Whibley had two assists each.

Nansemond River 6, Warwick 2: Kari Harrell set a school record with five goals for the Warriors (3-1). She has 43 for her career.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Catholic 59, Atlantic Shores 57: Samantha Green sank 1 of 2 free throws with 12 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Crusaders. Sara Matthews hit two foul shots with eight seconds to go in regulation to force overtime for the Seahawks (3-6).
Norfolk Academy 48, Walsingham 44: Kendra Robins was 4-for-4 from the line and Amanda Lee hit a 3-pointer as the Bulldogs (5-2) won in overtime. Robins finished with 20 points.
Norfolk Collegiate 71, Norfolk Christian 60: Julie Tebault had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Elizabeth Swearingen added 19 points for the Oaks (9-3). Carol Baker handed out seven assists.
BOYS SOCCER
Norfolk Collegiate 3, Peninsula Catholic 0: Keeper Jeff Oelrich earned (6-0-1) the shutout as the Oaks won in the quarterfinals of the Christchurch Tournament.
Norfolk Academy 5, Norfolk Christian 0: Herb Eilberg had his second hat trick of the week for the Bulldogs (5-2, 3-1 TCIS).
Portsmouth Christian 8, Ryan 1: Brian Rustay had three goals and three assists and Andy Bowers added two goals for the Patriots (3-2, 1-1 Metro).
CROSS COUNTRY
