What is now D.H. Truitt Middle School on Holly Street was originally
the site of South Norfolk High School. On Oct. 8, the final
graduating class from the old high school will conduct its 40th
anniversary reunion at the Holiday Inn Greenbrier. Class members
will be selling this limited-edition print of the school to benefit
the Sharon Carey Medical Scholarship fund. The cost is $10 each, and
all of it goes to the fund. For details about the reunion, call
Burnie Mansfield at 545-4961. This is the final week of my logo hunt
contest. Count the number of logos (circles with lightning bolts
through them) in all 10 drawings and send the total to The Clipper,
921 N. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23220. The right answer
will make you eligible to win one of five limited-edition prints or
the grand prize of a pencil portrait of your choice.
