Terry L. Hall has been named publisher of The News & Advance, the newspaper reported Sunday.
Her appointment was announced by Ed Freakley, president of Worrell Enterprises Inc., the newspaper's parent company.
Hall, 37, succeeds T. George Washington, who is retiring after 15 years as publisher. Washington also is retiring as senior vice president of Worrell Enterprises.
In addition to being named publisher of The News & Advance, Hall has been promoted to vice president of Worrell Enterprises. She will supervise Worrell newspapers in Pulaski, Christiansburg, Radford, Richlands, Tazewell and Suffolk.
Hall has published newspapers in Marion, Radford and Christiansburg, and was associate publisher of The Daily Progress in Charlottesville. Most recently she was publisher of The Eagle in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
