Police arrested four juveniles Sunday after a shootout near an elementary school in the Denbigh area, police said.
No one was injured. Police spokesman Bill Roth said it appeared that two groups of juveniles were shooting at each other in a park near Samford Elementary School. Officers responded and chased the juveniles for more than a mile before catching them, Roth said.
All have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, and two have been charged with attempted maiming.
Roth said pedestrians were in the park when the shooting started around 6:30 p.m. and police were still interviewing the witnesses late Sunday.
Roth said about a dozen shots were fired. Some of the bullets struck nearby cars.
