ROOSEVELT RICKS

Roosevelt ``Peter'' Ricks, 51, of the 2900 block of Llewellyn Ave., a retired moulder, died Sept. 24, 1994, in DePaul Hospital in Norfolk.

Mr. Ricks was born in Southampton County, Va. He had retired from Karbo Fountain Co. He was a member of Garden of Prayer No. 3 C.O.G.I.C., Norfolk. He was a member of No. 1 Usher Board. He was predeceased by his parents, Lena and Henry Ricks.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dicey Ricks of Norfolk; three daughters, Mrs. Letha M. Baines of Norfolk, Miss Suzette Joe and Miss Joycene Scott, both of Franklin, Va.; a son, Andrew Banks of Boston, Mass.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann White, Mrs. Mildred Lawrence and Mrs. Linda Lewis, all of Norfolk; three brothers, Willie Lee Ricks, Harvey Ricks and Woolise Ricks, all of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Garden of Prayer No. 3 C.O.G.I.C. by Elder Thomas Ruffin. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Visitation or viewing of remains will be in the church Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the daughter's home, 1021 Reel St., off Virginia Beach Blvd. near Newtown Road, Norfolk, (phone 461-6744) and will assemble there at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning for the processional to the church. T.E. Cooke-Twilight Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
